| I'm delighted to announce the safe arrival of Alice Olivia on 17th October at 10.21.
I was booked in for a planned caesarean on 17th as things were starting to become more difficult but when I got to the hospital my BP had rocketed so I was bumped up to first on the day's list which was a surprise!
Rotten couple of days - Alice in SCBU on CPAP, also she had a lumber puncture and iv anti biotics, and I was quite poorly with my BP hard to control. But, we came home yesterday and its great to be home as a family of 4 - can't really believe it!
I am so so so glad we decided to have another baby. Seeing Evelyn meet Alice for the first time was probably the best moment of my whole life and I feel so very grateful. But that's definitely it for us - our 2 girls are enough!

| Jodie, honey, congratulations! Welcome to the world Alice Olivia!! I've been thinking about you all week. How's your BP now? I hope that you are OK with the way she came into the world - after all that hope it must have been difficult to see her on SCBU. Did they explain why she had to have the lumbar puncture and the a/b's (was it pen and gent?) Joe had that, too.
Enjoy this special time - and it will get better and better.
Lots of love to the whole family L | |

| Huge congratulations Jodie! And welcome to the world Alice!! So sorry her first few days weren't quite how you'd hoped, I know I found it very hard watching Mairi in SCBU having hoped to have avoided it- brought back many memories I'd buried from when Sam was there. But I'm so glad she came home quickly and hope you are all settling into life as four! It is amazing watching siblings meet each other- they'll have that special bond forever. I really hope you are recovering quickly and BP behaves. I think with Mairi it took nearly 4 months for my BP to completely go to normal and be off the BP meds (it was less- 3 months I think- with Sam, even though I had HELLP with him). But saying that I felt pretty well within 2 weeks of the sections... Enjoy every minute Love Annika xxxx | |
