Hi Liz/everyone Very Happy

Thinking way ahead ........

Are daughters of mothers who have experienced PE at a higher risk of developing it?

Thanks

Hi Hayley,

Nice to hear from you!

The short answer, unfortunatley, is yes.
For girls, the risk is about 1:10
For boys, the odds that they will father a child born to PE, are about 1:20

My hope is that by the time our kids will reach that age, there will have been some real progress in detecting & managing this condtion so they dont go through all that we did.

I hope Emily is growing from stregth to strength & that you are all well.

Warm Wishes
Liz

Thanks Liz,

I thought that were the case for girls but didn't realise it would affect men fathering children too Surprised

Like you say though, hopefully by the time this question might be valid, progress will have been made!

Emily is doing well thanks. She might be coming home next week if the Prof in Bristol agrees with her doctors in Swindon. Fingers crossed!!

Love
Hayley xx
