Here are the guidelines set out by the National Institute for Clinical Excellelnce (NICE) which is the UKs Health 'Watchdog'.

This is the minimum standard of care you should expect for your care givers.

The PRECOG guidelines are a framework of standards that 'feed in' to the NICE guidelines.
The Guidelines themselves are represented by individual 'bodies' such as a charity or someone with a personal interest & then 'peer reviewed' by the medical commitees to ensure they are the highset standard of best practice.
