| Ladies, we have been accepted by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) to be part of the stakeholder group.I applied ...ages ago... for the members of this forum to have a voice in the guidelines process. Who better to say how PE feels than those who have experienced it? This means our opinions will be sought after and heard when reviewing any guidelines to do with hypertensive pregnancy! New draft guidelines are soon to be published too! NICE guidelinesHow empowering can we be I wonder! Congratulations ladies, our hurdles & triumphs can at least help others who may be in our 'boats' or possibly even prevent a tragedy. Im so excited...can you tell?! Kindest wishes Liz | |

| Well done Liz- that sounds really positive. While I'm on the topic of guidelines my midwife said guidelines had changed in the last few years - since I had my first child in Aug '07. Is this true? | |

| Hi Nicki,
I suspect she is talking about the updated PRECOG guidelines or the DAU guidelines.
They are all on here so you can still keep checking the care you are being offered is following them!

I hold quite strong opinions about how care is managed for apparently low risk women, which I would be quite happy to contribute at some point (I'll try not to be too strident).

| This is fantastic news Liz, its good to have a voice and for people to listen power to the people.
I always feel Im on a mission and making sure friends and family are aware of Pre Eclampsia and what to look for its amazing even today there are still some that do not know what the symptons are or what to look out for.
