Hi Liz,
Hope you had a great holiday. I just wanted your opinion if I can. I have seen two consultants, none of which I was happy about the way the meeting went. None of them had even bothered to get my maternity notes!! Anyway, I wanted to see the lady who had cared for me when I was admitted to hospital at 28 weeks. She ordered the clotting disorder blood tests back in May and I awaited her contact so I could see her and get the results.
I chased them at the end of July and my notes had to be requested as they had just been filed away!!! Anyway the secretary returned my call to say the results were normal and the consultant did not need to see me. I ask about asprin and advice about taking it and the secretary said "When you find out you are pregnant just take 75mg, its available over the counter".
I have found the whole process frustrating and ridiculous. My faith in the system is dwindling. Here I wait with my notes that I bothered to request from the hospital in which my daughter was born just wanting some answers and reassurance about another baby.
My question is this, is it now time to go private? We are in the BUPA scheme, Im not sure if they cover it but a simple phone call will find out. Or do I go back to my GP and ask to be seen by a specialist on the NHS (Liz, im sorry its so long ago, please could you let me have the names of them again).
Also, in the last two years since my daughters birth I have had about 10 episodes of flashing lights (like the ones I had when I was pregnant). My BP is back to normal but I think I should be monitored before I get pregnant.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
