New test to predict pre-eclampsia

A test which predicts pre-eclampsia in pregnant women could alert doctors to women at risk of the potentially fatal condition, US scientists say.

Liz says....

I think Andy Shennan has summed it up perfectly - it would be amazing if PE could be predicted in sucha simple and painless manner but with just 300 women in the study, it just isnt enough to say conclusively and needs to be extended into large multi centre trial.
But everyone here I am sure will know anything that will help has to be a bonus - especially for a subsequent pregnancy.

I hope, as I am sure you do that this test will become a reality for all women so the beast that is PE is kept away for women, their partners and familoies and for the babies.
