Pre-conception counselling is a good idea for any woman who has had PE with or without HELLP. I would suggest going to your GP & explain the situation & ask for a referral to a consultant who specialises in the condition. I can give you a list of experts I know if that helps.
If your GP is reluctant to refer it is usually because a) they feel there is enough expertise locally or b) cost. Under the PRECOG guidelines you are entitled to see a consultant who specialises in the condition 'as early in pregnacy as possible, ideally prior to conception'.
Questions to consider asking would be to go through your previous pregnancy in detail to see if there were pivotal moments that were also early warning signs. This is because we know that if PE is going to happen again its likely it will happen in a similar way as before only upto 2 weeks later & usually less severe.
Once you have that knowledge, plann what your package will be next time around. Whose care will you be under, expect to see the consultant at each appointment. When will you be scanned, will you have doppler scans & urine sticks at home etc....
Once a plan has been agreed that you feel confident with - any decision making thereafter will at least be informed decision making.
